Runaway Baby!

This is one of my favorite songs by Bruno Mars. It never gets old for me. I love how the styling in this video is super casual and looks like just another day in the life of Bruno Mars. The plaid shirts, tee shirts, and Monkey masks with sunglasses are super fun. Happy Saturday Loves!

Solange in Fashion

I think Solange Knowles has definitely become a fashion icon. She loves bold colors, print mixing, and suits, and I think she looks great whether she is formal or casual. Although some people have been calling her a hipster, I don't think we need to define her style according to any persona. I don't really think Solange should be a singer, but this video is fun and very fashionable. I appreciate that it showcases African, probably South African, fashion as a lifestyle. Check it out:

Song for Today

I love the colors of the jacket the guy holding the camera is wearing. His whole outfit, is really cool. The singer, in a turtle neck, I can digg it-turtle necks were all over the runway for 2013 Fashion month. I love the rhythm of this song. This will definitely get me through the day.

I don't usually talk about men's fashion but...

Will Smith and fashion in the 90's in general was always impressive and colorful. I still love the fashion from the 90's. Many of the spring trends we see on the runway now and in street style--such as stripes, black and white (i.e. checker board), shirt tied around waist, colorful sneakers, beanies etc. are 90's styles and trends. The Fresh Prince of BelAir and the Cosby Show, especially Denise Huxtable, were some of the most stylish 90's shows. I also enjoy Will Smith's rapping and this song is one of my favorites in terms of content for fashion do's and don'ts. It's fun!

 

One of my favorite rebirth 90's trends is the shirt-tied-around-waist & beanies. This is a selfie from my instagram of this rebirthed trend. I love it. 

About to Die

The singer, Amber, in the video I posted by Major Lazer filmed in Jamaica is a singer in the Dirty Projectors! They are great as well. This video is quite fun, in an interesting way. It makes a lot of subtle fashion remarks with vintage outfits. The ladies dresses are 19th century esq.

My Jamaica!

This is my new favorite video and song. As a Jamaican I love the honesty and authenticity of this music video. We were in Jamaica for three weeks for the Christmas Holidays hanging out with the biggest music video producer, Jay Will, in Jamaica who is in this video. He took us to a couple of the sites the video was filmed at unbeknownst to us.
